David Cooper

David has extensive experience working as a practitioner within the parks sector, both as a ‘placemaker’ and a ‘placekeeper’. As Head of Policy and Projects at Sheffield City Council’s Parks and Countryside Service, he led on the regeneration of the city’s key parks and green spaces and was responsible for coordinating the development of the Sheffield’s Green and Open Strategy.

As part of the city’s economic strategy, he has also been instrumental in advancing the ‘Outdoor City’ concept to promote the environmental, leisure and business benefits of Sheffield’s green space offer internationally.
